Of course, the more that people talk online, the more the myths spread and that could mean that many are missing out on the fitness benefits that come with the likes of CBD protein or CBD spray.

Myth 1: “It’s Addictive”

This is a myth that extends from its origins and although it is clear to understand why, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is that CBD comes from the Cannabis Sativa plant and a link between using cannabis and the addictive nature of the plant when taken in certain forms has been associated with CBD. Cannabis contains THC and that is the psychoactive compound that causes the high. However, CBD does not contain this and does not cause the high and is not addictive, which makes it perfect for using as one of your natural supplements.

Myth 2: “CBD is Illegal!”

Once again, because of its link to cannabis, many believe that it is illegal but this is not the case. There are more than 140 different compounds in the cannabis plant and only two are considered primary active ingredients - CBD and THC. The latter is the ingredient that causes psychoactive changes and that’s why cannabis is illegal. However, CBD is not psychoactive and can therefore be used legally.

Myth 3: “CBD Makes You Sleep”

It is believed that CBD can help to ease anxiety and help those who have problems sleeping, or have irregular sleep; but it does not make you fall asleep. In fact, it has been suggested that it can actually make you more focused during the day, which is perfect for working out. Once the night comes, it’s believed that it can leave you feeling rested.

Myth 4: “Taking More is Better”

Many believe that if they take more then they will see better results faster but this is not the case. While CBD is considered safe, taking too much can mean that you lose the effectiveness of it, which is not wise if you are using it for recovery purposes while working out. So, it is recommended to start with a lower dose and adjust until you experience the right results.

Myth 5: “It Becomes THC Once You’ve Ingested CBD”

One of the earliest myths to come around was that CBD would turn to THC once it mixes with the acid in your stomach. However, this is not true as many users can stand for this while research has also found that this is not the case.
